Whose Church Is It Anyway

"U.S. Roman Catholic bishops are gathering at a moment of turbulence for them and the American church, as Pope Francis moves toward crafting new policies for carrying out his mission of mercy - a prospect that has conservative Catholics and some bishops in an uproar."  From AOL.com

This posting is not about the Catholic Church, I know very little about that denomination.  It is probably a little bit about everything that has to do with membership and in a larger sense about definitions, jurisdiction, and being.  I read another posting elsewhere on the Internet that asked if the Pope was (still) Catholic.

Yesterday, while on the road I had the opportunity to listen to Radiolab on NPR where they had a discussion about the framing of the U.S. Constitution and the music industry and jurisdiction.

During my life I've been a member of a family, a student at various schools, a citizen of the United States, a foreigner, a neighbor, an employee, self employed, a dues paying church member, a member of the Moose Lodge in Hialeah, a tax payer, a Social Security recipient, a licensed horseman, member of a condominium association, a voter, a subscriber to magazines, a viewer, a listener, a friend, a male, homeowner, permanent resident in the State of Florida and Miami Dade County  and a member of the Caucasian race, a member of a team all at the same time as being an individual.

I think I'm going to be writing about some of these issues in the coming days because in some way we are all owners and have some shared responsibilities, whether we like it or not.
