Travel Restrictions Part Two

Today on Facebook a Canadian Cousin posted a vacation advertisement offering a vacation in Cuba for about $800.00 pp. including airfare from various Canadian cities.  If you are from the Upper US, this seems like a warm weather destination that might be interesting to explore and you don't need to wait till summer to get a good rate.

U.S. Citizens may be able to travel to Cuba to visit relatives or if you can qualify for special visas given for educational or cultural purposes but hopping on a plane for some R&R in Cuba from Minneapolis or Duluth is frowned upon.

Dennis Rodman can visit North Korea and hang out with a butcher.  If you are a non celebrity the return connections back to the United States can be pretty tricky.

The embargo of trade with Cuba does not include food and medicines.  Further relaxation of embargo restrictions are awaiting the passing of Fidel Castro.  Meanwhile remittances from Cubans that have made it to the United States continue.
