Derrick Rose May Not Be A Warrior

The point guard for the Chicago Bulls has been tormented by injuries to his knees that have kept him on the sidelines for the greater part of the last two years.  He has been missed sorely by his team and seems to be continuing to have physical problems.  His latest comments have done him no good.

 “I’m thinking about long term. I’m thinking about after I’m done with basketball. Having graduations to go to, having meetings to go to, I don’t want to be in my meetings all sore or be at my son’s graduation all sore just because of something I did in the past. [I'm] just learning and being smart.”

 Charles Barkley, has called him out for this "stupid statement".  Obviously getting paid $20,000,000 per year makes the statement insensitive to say the least given the fact that a lot of folks go home sore and tired each day and do it for the minimum wage and that isn't the "league minimum".
I can only imagine what his team mates are thinking, even if they are compelled to keep their mouths shut.  It must be very frustrating.

 The Miami Heat rested D Wade repeatedly in preparation for the playoffs last year.  I'm not sure the Bulls have that luxury.

Internet Dust Ups

 A high school classmate shared on FB, something from a 64 year old commercial pilot who had passed a exam to fly on of the latest jets in their fleet of aircraft.  I was also aware of an FAA rule about retirement at age 65 for commercial pilots.    In the U.S.,  there are no  FAA  age limits for pilots except for commercial airline pilots employed by airlines certificated under 14 CFR Part 121 . These airlines cannot employ pilots after they reach the age of 65. However, these pilots may stay on with a Part 121 carrier in some other role, such as flight engineers. What Is Official These Days?

 I would guess most people would understand what Official means.  Just because a person holds a public office doesn't mean everything he might do is official and everything he might not do is official as well. “The modern conservative is engaged in one of man’s oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness". from J.
