Security Issues At Churches, Sadly Yes

Two Palestinians attack and kill four worshipers, a police officer, and wound five others in synagogue before being killed by police.  Violence at any place of worship cannot be tolerated, but unfortunately something seems to be happening these days where there is little left that is sacred.

It seems quaint that folks would be allowed to worship in peace and quiet but that seems to be disappearing.  Religious community is.  It's not an and/or proposition.  It is a real part of freedom not only in the United States but in the world as well. Mess with this and freedom means something else.

Freedom of religion requires both respect and measured tolerance by all religious faiths.  Having a worship service broken up by gunfire, violence, or even disruptive "visitors", needs to be dealt with.

Sadly, it is becoming almost common place to see police cars outside places of worship on Fridays and Sundays or members of the congregation having to be stationed in strategic locations should something happen that would endanger the worshipers.

There are more than enough existential threats out there and religious folks would be better advised to cooperate and take care of each other.
