Feedback On Performance

It's been almost a year since the pandemic took hold of most people's lives.  Moving forward these days isn't as frightening as it was 365 days ago plus or minus.  It depends what cohort you are in and what you think about the long term.

I like the ideas of evaluation of performance, achievement of goals and mid-course corrections if the performance is lacking or goals are not being achieved.

From the Washington Post: Life expectancy at birth, considered a reliable barometer of a nation’s health, has risen steadily in the United States since the middle of the 20th century, with small annual decreases in recent years caused mainly by “deaths of despair” — drug overdoses, alcoholism and suicide. Flat and modestly declining life expectancy from 2015 to 2017 caused considerable concern among public health experts after decades of progress against heart disease, cancer and other maladies.

According to the CDC life expectancy went down a year for the first six months of 2020 mostly due to COVID 19.  It was much worse if you were Black or Latino. Comorbidity along with "deaths by despair" need attention individually as a community and as a country.
