The Bush/Clinton Dynasty

Jeb Bush was Governor of Florida. Jeb Bush's father and brother were Presidents of the United States, and George Bush was vice president for eight years before he became President. Hillary Clinton's husband was President of the United States and she was first lady, Senator from New York, and Secretary of State. All of these offices make for powerful resumes, huge speaking fees and a pathway to higher office. Stuff just seems to fall in place if you are to believe the media.

These two families have held the highest office in the land for twenty years and if you add other odd jobs in the executive branch about 32 consecutive years. These two families are close if you are to believe in the friendship between Bill and George W. Bush.

I hope I'm not alone in thinking that maybe this country would be better off rejecting this dynastic impulse. It's hard enough to change things as it is, looking backwards won't get it done and just because somebody has an impressive resume doesn't mean they should get a pass on the employment interview.
