Naming Rights For Stadiums

Only in Florida would a public university take money from a private company that manages correctional facilities.  I'm sure they take comfort from the fact that the CEO of the GEO Company is an FAU alumni and the deal is worth a reported five million dollars.

The GEO Company is a child of the Wackenhunt Security Company. 

As with many governmental agencies or governmental agencies that now contract with the private sector to provide public services a review of postings shows that the company has paid many fines and has been sued for the services it has or has not provided.

Private companies that run public facilities are not restricted from donating to political campaigns.  What political figure would not like to increase the number of names in the roladex when asking for contributions.  Public employees vote also and I'm sure their contributions also contribute to free political speech which isn't very free any more.

The irony of it all!  The list of sports figures in jail these days is not insignificant.  Maybe the GEO Company wants to be able to strike a deal where incarcerated sports celebrities are able to make a buck signing sports memorabilia.

There is a lot of money in the corrections business and rent a cop business.  The war on drugs and poor folks needs some good PR?

Early voting and mail in voting will take place before November 5, 2024. Internet Dust Ups

 A high school classmate shared on FB, something from a 64 year old commercial pilot who had passed a exam to fly on of the latest jets in their fleet of aircraft.  I was also aware of an FAA rule about retirement at age 65 for commercial pilots.    In the U.S.,  there are no  FAA  age limits for pilots except for commercial airline pilots employed by airlines certificated under 14 CFR Part 121 . These airlines cannot employ pilots after they reach the age of 65. However, these pilots may stay on with a Part 121 carrier in some other role, such as flight engineers. What Is Official These Days?

 I would guess most people would understand what Official means.  Just because a person holds a public office doesn't mean everything he might do is official and everything he might not do is official as well. “The modern conservative is engaged in one of man’s oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness". from J.
