This was an almost normal day.  Per usual I woke up at about 3:00 am and stumbled to the bathroom.  At this time in the morning the AM radio is filled with sports or crazy people who think they have been visited by aliens.  It takes a while to fall asleep again, not just this morning but just about every morning and on reflection I miss Larry King.  6:00am is the next wake up call.  Teeth brushed, hair combed, coffee started, and then oh crap my back hurts as I try to pick up the morning paper.  I try to catch a few moments of Morning  Joe before Patty wakes up and changes the channel to Despierta  America.

Cuban toast has little or no nutritional value but I like it in the morning with spread and peanut butter.

By 7:15am Lisvey and Patty are ready for the morning ride to school.  GW Carver in the Grove isn’t my school of choice and there is a bus but the place seems  to fit Lisvey and she has some friends and does most of the things  4th and 5th graders do, like birthday parties on weekends.

Up US1 and then the truck makes a few right turns back to the Rene Condominium.  I thought I retired a few years ago.  Now it just seems like I work a split shift that is filled with errands most of the time, punctuated by a little part time job that I go to on Thursdays and Fridays.

The errands are mostly taxi like trips to the grocery, Target, the post office or helping Patty look for another place to live, with all the usual conditions for a single Mom that has no work authorization, no driver's license, and daughter with about 10 weeks of school left.  Is it close to GWC, near bus route 37, a grocery store, and at a price that won’t break the bank(mine).

Today it was a trip to Target that filled my morning.  I/We bought a new Mr Coffee like  coffee maker and in an effort to save a trip in the pm to the grocery store I bought some food and detergent and paid for it on a credit card.  Home by noon, I spent some quality time with facebook, email, and checking for any change in Patty’s status with INS.  The last request for information has been received so I’m sure we will be going into another period of extended waiting for another request for information.

It’s Wednesday and the return trip to GWC begins at 2:00pm.
Such is life. martyrdom is not obtained easily.
