Songs About Dogs Maybe

This morning I walked a dog named Nene.  From the Spanish it means Baby, more or less. From there I kind of went down the "rabbit hole" of songs about dogs.  Puppy Eyes was an answer in today's mini crossword in the NYT, Paul Anka wrote "Puppy Love" which isn't about dogs but there are a lot of crossovers between dogs and love. 

Patti Page recorded " Doggie in the Window?" in 1953.  The song was #1 on the charts for about eight weeks and sold about 2,000,000 records.

"Hound Dog" by Elvis Presley was a really big hit, but it him got bounced from the Ed Sullivan Show.

      Yes, this might become a recurring post. "Who Let the Dogs Out" came to mind and it has a very good beat. Very popular at baseball games it won, it won a Grammy Award in 2001 according to Wikipedia for best Dance Recording. It definitely is in the "One Hit Wonder" HOF. Thanks for the comment.

Internet Dust Ups

 A high school classmate shared on FB, something from a 64 year old commercial pilot who had passed a exam to fly on of the latest jets in their fleet of aircraft.  I was also aware of an FAA rule about retirement at age 65 for commercial pilots.    In the U.S.,  there are no  FAA  age limits for pilots except for commercial airline pilots employed by airlines certificated under 14 CFR Part 121 . These airlines cannot employ pilots after they reach the age of 65. However, these pilots may stay on with a Part 121 carrier in some other role, such as flight engineers. What Is Official These Days?

 I would guess most people would understand what Official means.  Just because a person holds a public office doesn't mean everything he might do is official and everything he might not do is official as well. “The modern conservative is engaged in one of man’s oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness". from J.
