A Balanced Approach
I'm dreading the coming week. Ten years might seem like a long time and it is but I think I've heard enough about the 9/11 attacks. My Mom, two cousins, an aunt died within a couple of weeks of the time of the attack on the twin towers. I thought it might have been the beginning of the end of the world for a short period. It was a trying time.
A few simple memorial services would be in order but that is not the way of the world these days. There is so much space to fill that next Sunday will have way too many replays of stuff we have already seen too many times.
What have we learned in ten years? Two wars, and too many changes in the way we live to count and the lessons who knows if they were the right lessons. I avoid airports. I figure just about any privacy I thought I had is gone. This country has embraced globalism and at the same time become scared of people from foreign countries whether they are from the Americas or from somewhere else.
We elected a president and then needed the Supreme Court to tell us who won. We elected another president and in spite of everything a big portion of the population does not believe he is a legitimate citizen let alone allow him a reasonable chance to govern because they are now against things and ideas that they were probably for.
Most people just want a reasonable job, health care when needed, and to be left alone to pursue some kind of happiness. If you are out of work and have spent all your savings, getting older and starting to feel your age and wonder if your kids will ever get out of the house you are not alone.
Replays of planes crashing into the twin towers, replays of crap about the housing crisis, and the continual carping about who is to blame needs to get cleaned out like some of the stuff I've watched on HOARDERS.
