"It's alright Ma, I'm only bleeding," Not to be confused with "It's A Wonderful Life".

 Alternative histories seem to be all the thing at least for the last week or so or maybe the last five years. The charges and counter charges of what went down at Mar A Lago has brought out commentators of all stripes and it is all about what didn't happen during the general election of 2020, the results of the election in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

There have also been two impeachment trials brought by democrats and dismissed almost entirely by republicans.

On January 6th, 2021, there was a riot, insurrection or failed coup attempt depending on who, what, when, and why you believe.  Where it all started is open to conjecture to some, but the preponderance of the evidence is that republicans at the highest level of government tried to muck up the results of the 2020 election for president.  The potential for a bipartisan search for the truth was again rejected by an almost straight party line vote.  Was the republican senate taking the 5th Amendment.

Sadly, the attempt to get to the why this happened has seemingly been lost as truth is being deflected by the need to feed the republican base and continue a kind of politics that weakens democracy, the rule of law and is a threat to all levels of public service.  

You might ask yourself: What would a second term for Donald J. Trump have been if he had "won" the election in 2020. that he actually lost in both the Electoral College and the popular vote. 

And just a week ago the FBI obtained a search warrant for documents it believed were somewhere on the Mar a Lago property.  After Trump attorneys reported that all presidential documents had been returned to the proper authorities, it was determined that they had not.  There were still outstanding documents, outstanding, leading the Attorney General to have a news conference to explain the search warrant process and the reason for the Monday Morning return visit to Mar A Lago.

It has been reported that classified documents were retrieved and in what has become a new normal, the FBI planted the documents it found, and it really didn't matter because the President has the right to declassify documents.

The Jury is out.  It is predicted that Liz Cheney will lose the republican nomination for the seat she has held in Congress, after being voted out of the leadership team, earlier this year.

I would make other predictions, but I've been wrong so many times on politics, the pandemic and people that I'm "gun shy".
