And So It Goes : What's the Over/Under on Medals?

It seems racing analysts don't like being admonished to "stay in their lane".  The life they have chosen is fraught with problems.  Very few jobs come with a 1-800-gambler warning.  I follow horse racing on "social media" and I guess that includes having an adw account from which I can make bets on horses after I have deposited money to bet.  The adw provides handicapping information, access to racing forms, and a live stream of races from virtually everywhere.

TVG is connected with Fanduel which has expanded into sports wagering and if you live in a state that allows sports betting you can bet on the Olympics.  Yes at one time it would have been possible to make bets on Simon Biles.  I do not have a Fanduel account but Simon Biles and the Women's Gymnastics Team were given special mention should a person be so inclined.

Yesterday, I replied to a racing analyst with a daughter that had been a gymnast for 12 years.  Who felt compelled to comment on Simon Biles.

Being that my daughter was a gymnast for 12 years and Simone Biles is literally her idol 2 things need to be said: 1) If she can't mentally perform she risks major injury. 2) If she can't even do a routine vault her team has a better chance without her.

I get people not understanding her decision and I'm not sure I do either. But it's not totally selfish. And stop with the LeBron comparisons. He's not falling off uneven bars inverted and spinning if he flounders. Her teammates had a better shot at gold than she did.

Yes, please stick to horses. Nobody follows TVG for health related stuff from a TV Commentator.

And yes this brought on a lot of responses like as if I could stop two kinda sort of  celebrities from in a niche sport saying whatever they wanted.  And as an aside Kerri Strugg being carried off the floor by her coach Bela Karoli doesn't feel the same as it did in 1996.

Draw your own conclusions.  Meanwhile:

Trainers Jorge Navarro and Jason Servis are among 27 people indicted on federal charges in connection with the use of performance-enhancing drugs on racehorses, according to indictments released Monday by the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York.

  1. The 7/30/2021 Daily Podcast had an informative story about Simone Biles. It's worth the serious listen.
