About 48 Hours Ago l Lost My Coffee Cup

Back before the turn of the century I got a bright yellow coffee mug from the Bristol Bank when I opened an account and set up a Certificate of Deposit.  The building was convenient, it didn't look like a bank building and I was pissed off at the local Bank of America that closed/moved.  No credit card just an ATM machine and a cooperative arrangement with Publix.  I really liked the mug.

Bristol Bank was bought by the Bank of Florida which failed in 2007 or 2008 and with the help of the FDIC was bought by Everbank of Jacksonville, which became part of TIAA (Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association).

The coffee mug has survived until Wednesday when it went missing.  Coffee in the morning without the yellow mug.  Ok, it might be in the bedroom, by the couch, hidden in plain sight.  Thursday, the mug was still AWOL and I really started to wonder if there had been foul play. I've taken it outside since Irma visited and it has spent time in the car. Did the last person washing dishes drop it and break it.  I was about ready to call the girl friend and ask her what she did with it.

Then I opened the microwave and realized the prodigal cup that had been lost was found and I was happier than I'd been for a while

Internet Dust Ups

 A high school classmate shared on FB, something from a 64 year old commercial pilot who had passed a exam to fly on of the latest jets in their fleet of aircraft.  I was also aware of an FAA rule about retirement at age 65 for commercial pilots.    In the U.S.,  there are no  FAA  age limits for pilots except for commercial airline pilots employed by airlines certificated under 14 CFR Part 121 . These airlines cannot employ pilots after they reach the age of 65. However, these pilots may stay on with a Part 121 carrier in some other role, such as flight engineers. What Is Official These Days?

 I would guess most people would understand what Official means.  Just because a person holds a public office doesn't mean everything he might do is official and everything he might not do is official as well. “The modern conservative is engaged in one of man’s oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness". from J.
