The Miami Heat Get Jobbed?

The Miami Heat got beat by the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday.  They did not get beat by a broken air conditioning system.  The Spurs beat the point spread, shot lights out and seemed a lot quicker.  I watched the game.  It was a close one until Lebron James left the game with severe muscle cramping.

It's not a question of James being soft or drinking Powerade instead Gatorade. Ultra high level athletics that are played in less than ideal conditions like 90 plus degree heat can cause some strange things to happen.  Lebron James is a warrior who crossed the pain barrier after becoming dehydrated.

The NBA is a league dominated by star players and showtime teams and a league that is notorious for intrigue and a lot of other crap.  Referees and the calling of fouls.  Please! Traveling and palming the ball are hardly ever called. MJ taking time off to play minor league baseball because it was more socially acceptable than in patient therapy for a confluence of personal problems and some reportedly serious gambling losses. MJ playing three rounds of golf the morning and afternoon before a 7:00 pm tip off in Miami. Strangely, MJ was a little off his game and the Bulls lost that night.

Did the Spurs turn off the AC for some additional home court advantage?  Did Las Vegas bookmakers get to the HVAC guy?  I think the bigger question is where the heck were the Air Around The Clock guys.  If I was at the game and paid hundreds of dollars for a seat, I might want my money back, or at least a break on next years season tickets.

The old Chicago Stadium did not have air conditioning, and I don't believe the old Boston Garden had air conditioning either.  Those venues have been replaced.  Basketball used to be played in the winter. I like the Miami Heat and consider myself at least a fair weather fan who will be glued to the TV. Fix the AC or move the games to a place where the weather isn't an issue, indoors or out.

We don't need strange crap screwing up a championship series.
