Sheep, Wolves, and Sheepdogs

These analogies were used in describing the parties involved the gun control debate.  Sheep, those without guns, wolves, those who commit gun violence, and sheepdogs, those who have guns to protect the sheep.

This is an argument that is probably overly simplified and does not explain the Senate's inability to pass more extensive background check legislation.

Wolves in sheep's clothes get a free pass too often these days.

  1. Totally agree. The sheep are the blue states with the most restrictions. That is also where the (wolves) gun violence is found. Chicago is the poster boy here or maybe Detroit. I hear that Miami may be coming up the backstretch.

  2. Having different regulations in states is another problem, that just moves issue to another venue.
My latest home grown issue is some one who is upset that the local blood service defers some from donating blood and that the policy does not fit with the welcoming nature of our congregation and the bloodmobile should be banned from the property.

  3. I find it hard to imagine that the indignity from being deferred trumps the need for a clean blood supply. It's a crazy world. Our latest homegrown is that alderman candidates had a sit down with gang leaders to see what they wanted in exchange for support.
