Longmire and the Olympics

I've been watching Longmire, a new series on A&E.  I have a secret wish that someone would buy me a cowboy hat like the one Walt wears on the show.  Maybe I wouldn't be able to wear it until fall, but it seems like the story except for the murder and a couple of details could have been lifted from the Miami Herald and their story about some corruption   about our local tribe, the Miccosukkee.  Profits from the tribal casino and corruption in the tribe might be a common story.  What would Chief Seattle think.

On a related front I have conspicuously been missing the Olympics and the sporting events.  I used to keep score on how many medals the USA had won.  The medal ceremonies were interesting because I liked to hear the anthems of the various countries.  But this year nothing seems to click.  The opening ceremonies were quirky like the British but not worth the effort.  This is in spite of reports that Americans are watching the games in greater numbers than previous years.

Maybe I'm distracted or just getting old.
