Some things ...

The Miami Marlins are at it again.  In the sports vernacular they are sellers rather than buyers.  It's pretty clear they are not going anywhere and short of a few miracles the team will not be in the playoffs.

The skinny is that Giancarlo Stanton is the only untouchable.  Hanley Ramirez learned the hard way that the Marlins have little patience.  The sad fact is that a new stadium does not success guarantee.  In fact the owners work harder on getting the stadium and had more patience with that process than they have shown with the team.

The pitching has been inconsistent, and the day to day players have not been able to hit at anything near their long term averages.  These are a couple of reasons why people are not lining up to buy those prime seats behind home plate.  The Marlins are not the Miami Heat.  Jeffery Loria is not Mickey Arison and David Sampson is not Pat Riley.

The fact is that in the face of some questionable decisions like Ozzie Guillen, Carlos Zambrano, Jose Reyes, and under performance by Behurlie, Ramirez, Johnson and just about everyone else the "Management" could have stayed the course and taken appropriate steps at the end of the season but the default reaction is to have another in a series of fire sales.

Fielding more prospects in the second half of the season will not sell tickets.  It will only piss off the existing fans.
